Wankhede Stadium Stand to Be Named After Rohit Sharma

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is set to receive a rare honour. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to name a stand at the Wankhede Stadium after him. MCA representatives announced this key decision to the media on Tuesday.

The unveiling of the Rohit Sharma Pavilion is likely to take place during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 18th season match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The annual meeting of the Mumbai Cricket Association was held on Tuesday, during which officials discussed the proposal to name stadium stands after cricketing legends.

All members unanimously agreed that Rohit Sharma, who has rendered significant service to Indian cricket and Mumbai cricket in particular, deserves this recognition. As a result, they resolved to name one of the stands at Wankhede Stadium after him. MCA President Ajinkya Naik disclosed the details of this decision.
