Hailstorms Likely to Continue for Four More Days in Andhra Pradesh

Unseasonal rains have severely damaged crops in several districts of Andhra Pradesh, causing significant distress to farmers. Farmers expressed deep frustration over the destruction of ready-to-harvest crops due to the sudden rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that similar weather conditions are expected to persist for another four days. The IMD stated that unseasonal rains accompanied by hailstorms and strong winds are likely to continue during this period.
According to the IMD, cumulonimbus clouds are responsible for the current spell of thunderstorms and heavy rains. Additionally, a surface trough extending from Vidarbha to Tamil Nadu at an altitude of 1.5 kilometers above sea level is contributing to the adverse weather. The IMD has warned that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur, advising people to stay away from trees during rainfall to avoid lightning strikes.
