Pawan Kalyan Clarifies Stance on Hindi and NEP-2020

Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan has clarified that neither imposing a language nor blindly opposing it contributes to national and cultural unity. He emphasized that he is not against the Hindi language but opposes making it mandatory.
Pawan Kalyan criticized the spread of misinformation that Hindi is being forcibly imposed, stating that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 does not mandate the language. "Creating false narratives about Hindi being imposed under NEP-2020 is an attempt to mislead the public," he alleged.
He explained that under NEP-2020, students have the option to learn one foreign language and two Indian languages, including their mother tongue. Those who do not wish to learn Hindi can choose from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Sanskrit, Gujarati, Assamese, Kashmiri, Odia, Bengali, Punjabi, Sindhi, Bodo, Dogri, Konkani, Maithili, Meitei, Nepali, Santali, Urdu, or any other Indian language.
Pawan Kalyan further stated that the multilingual policy in NEP-2020 is designed to provide students with the freedom to choose, promote national unity, and preserve India's rich linguistic diversity. He accused certain political groups of deliberately misinterpreting the policy for their agendas and refuted claims that he had changed his stance.
"Misunderstanding this policy or claiming that I have shifted my position only reflects a lack of awareness. Jana Sena Party remains committed to the principles of language freedom and the right to education for every Indian," he asserted.
