New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon joined in the Holi celebrations, marking the occasion with enthusiasm alongside the people of his country. A video of Luxon using a cloud gulal cylinder to spray colors on the crowd has gone viral on social media.
Holi, one of India’s most vibrant festivals, is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country, with people of all ages participating in the festivities by throwing colors and enjoying the lively atmosphere. The Indian diaspora around the world also celebrates the festival with the same zeal.
Luxon has previously expressed admiration for India on multiple occasions, stating, “I am a big fan of India... It is a country that I love and deeply respect.”
The New Zealand Prime Minister is set to visit India from March 16 to 20, marking his first visit to the country since assuming office. His trip aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including trade and investments. On March 17, he will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss trade, defense cooperation, and people-to-people ties.
As part of his visit, Luxon will also meet Indian President Droupadi Murmu. Following his engagements in Delhi, he will travel to Mumbai for a two-day visit on March 19 and 20 before returning to Wellington.
