IT Raids Conducted at Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions
Income Tax (IT) department officials are conducting extensive searches across Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions in multiple locations across India. The raids are taking place simultaneously at branches of Sri Chaitanya Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. The educational institution, which operates primarily from Hyderabad, is under scrutiny following allegations of financial irregularities.

Authorities launched the searches based on suspicions that Sri Chaitanya institutions collected fees in cash from students and subsequently evaded taxes. The IT department suspects that the organization used two separate software systems—one for recording official online fee collections and another for concealing cash transactions to evade taxes.

One of the key locations under investigation is Sri Chaitanya’s headquarters in Ayyappa Society, Madhapur, Hyderabad. This office reportedly handles corporate operations and student-related financial transactions. Around 20 IT officials are currently conducting searches at the premises, reviewing financial documents and returns previously submitted to the department. Officials, with the cooperation of staff, are verifying these records to assess potential tax discrepancies.

Reports suggest that Sri Chaitanya institutions generate hundreds of crores of rupees annually through tuition fees, examination fees, and admission charges. A significant portion of these transactions allegedly takes place in cash, raising concerns over possible tax evasion. Allegations have also surfaced that students are pressured to make payments in cash rather than through digital channels.

The IT department is expected to continue these searches into the following day as part of its investigation.
