ACB Seeks Governor’s Nod to File Case Against Former Minister Vidadala Rajini

Former minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Vidadala Rajini is facing mounting legal troubles as authorities prepare to file a case against her over alleged extortion. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has sought permission from the Governor to question Rajini regarding accusations that she extorted ₹2.20 crore from the owners of Sri Lakshmi Balaji Stone Crusher in Yadlapadu, Palnadu district. Officials are expected to register a case against her as soon as the Governor grants approval.
In the same case, ACB officials have already obtained permission from the Chief Secretary to interrogate IPS officer Joshua.
A Vigilance and Enforcement inquiry into the matter revealed that Rajini and others allegedly demanded ₹5 crore from the stone crusher owners before ultimately extorting ₹2.20 crore. The report states that Rajini received ₹2 crore, while Joshua and Rajini’s personal assistant each received ₹10 lakh. Based on these findings, the government directed the ACB to investigate further.
As part of the legal process, ACB officials are currently securing the necessary approvals to proceed with the case.
