Two More Flights to Bring Back Deported Indians from the U.S.

The United States government, under the administration of Donald Trump, is intensifying its crackdown on undocumented immigrants. As part of this initiative, the U.S. recently deported 104 Indian nationals and is now preparing to send more individuals back to India on two additional flights. According to sources, one of these flights, scheduled to arrive on February 15, will carry between 170 and 180 deportees, with another flight set to bring back more individuals shortly after.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has stated that an additional 487 Indian nationals remain on the deportation list. Meanwhile, the Punjab government has expressed strong opposition to the landing of deportation flights in Amritsar. Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has accused the central government of tarnishing the state's reputation and questioned why these flights are not being diverted to BJP-ruled states like Haryana and Gujarat. He has demanded that future deportation flights land in Ahmedabad instead.
