Kane Williamson Surpasses Virat Kohli, Reaches 7,000 ODI Runs in Record Time

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson achieved a significant milestone during his team's commanding victory against South Africa in the ongoing tri-series featuring Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand. The match took place on Monday at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where New Zealand successfully chased down South Africa’s challenging target of 305 runs with ease. Williamson led from the front, scoring an unbeaten century (133*), guiding his team to victory.

With this innings, Williamson set a new record by becoming the second-fastest batsman to reach 7,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs). He accomplished this feat in just 159 innings, surpassing India's Virat Kohli, who had taken 161 innings to reach the same milestone.

However, the record for the fastest to 7,000 ODI runs remains with South African cricketer Hashim Amla, who achieved the feat in only 150 innings. Following Williamson and Kohli on this list is another South African great, AB de Villiers, who reached the milestone in 166 innings.
