Telangana Cabinet Approves Comprehensive Caste Census and SC Categorization Reports

The Telangana Cabinet has approved reports on the comprehensive caste census and the categorization of Scheduled Castes (SC). The Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, was held at the Assembly Hall and lasted for approximately two hours. The reports approved by the Cabinet will be presented in the Assembly for further approval.

Speaking at the meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that Telangana has made history by conducting a caste census for the first time in the country. He emphasized that the survey was conducted meticulously to gather accurate data. He further asserted that Telangana would serve as a model for other states in matters related to caste census and SC categorization.

Revanth Reddy claimed that the caste census would increase pressure on the Prime Minister. He also clarified that the state government would proceed with SC categorization based on the Supreme Court’s verdict, as well as recommendations from the Cabinet subcommittee and the one-member commission.

The Chief Minister criticized opposition leader K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for not attending the Assembly, alleging that the opposition lacks sincerity in addressing public issues.
