DSC Notification After MLC Election Code Ends, Confirms Nara Lokesh

Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh has announced that the notification for the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment will be released immediately after the conclusion of the Model Code of Conduct for the upcoming Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections. He stated that the DSC recruitment process would begin in March and be completed before the start of the academic year.

Elections for three MLC seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled to take place on February 27, with vote counting set for March 3.

Speaking on the matter, Nara Lokesh emphasized that their government has been responsible for 80% of teacher appointments in both the erstwhile unified Andhra Pradesh and the newly formed state. He asserted that the administration is in constant consultation with teacher associations and ensures that educators’ opinions are considered in all education-related policy decisions.

The minister also highlighted that the Education Department Commissioner holds grievance meetings every Friday to address teachers' issues. Furthermore, he mentioned that the government is introducing a Transfer Act to ensure transparency in teacher transfers.

Nara Lokesh stressed that the education system should not be subject to arbitrary decisions, which is why the government engages with stakeholders before implementing any policies.
