Peddireddy Family Accused of Encroaching Forest Land; Pawan Kalyan Orders Comprehensive Report

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Forests, Pawan Kalyan, has ordered a thorough investigation into alleged large-scale encroachment of forest land by the family of former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy in Chittoor district’s Mangalampeta forest area. Reports indicate that an estate has been developed within the forest, including a luxury guest house, and that a road has been constructed through the forest for access to the estate.

Responding to these allegations, Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to conduct a comprehensive inquiry and submit a detailed report. As a first step, he has instructed the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) to provide a preliminary report at the earliest. He has further directed authorities to take legal action against those responsible for encroaching on forest land.

Pawan Kalyan has emphasized the need for an investigation into the extent of the encroachment and the damage caused to the forest. He has also ordered a thorough examination of forest land records in the Punganur constituency to determine the extent of the alleged encroachments. Officials have been instructed to verify whether any records have been tampered with and to identify those responsible for any irregularities. The report is expected to include details on who benefited from the alleged encroachment and whether any official documents were manipulated.
