Sankranti Holidays End, Heavy Crowds at Vijayawada Bus and Railway Stations

With the conclusion of Sankranti holidays in the Telugu states, schools and colleges are set to reopen from tomorrow. This marks the return journey for many who traveled to their hometowns for the festive season. Consequently, bus and train services are witnessing unprecedented crowds. Andhra Pradesh is experiencing a similar scenario, with families traveling back after the festival holidays.

The Vijayawada Bus Stand and Railway Station have become particularly crowded as travelers make their way home. Anticipating the surge in passenger numbers, APSRTC (Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation) has arranged special buses to various destinations. These include major cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai, where additional buses are being deployed to manage the increased demand.

Today, APSRTC is operating 133 additional buses from Vijayawada. The corporation has clarified that these special services will charge regular fares. However, passengers should note that advance booking facilities are not available for these buses.
