Union Minister Piyush Goyal Virtually Inaugurates National Turmeric Board in Nizamabad

Union Minister of Commerce Piyush Goyal virtually inaugurated the National Turmeric Board in Nizamabad, Telangana, via video conference from New Delhi. The event was attended by Member of Parliament Dharmapuri Arvind. Establishing the National Turmeric Board has been a long-standing aspiration of the residents of Nizamabad district. On the previous day, the central government officially approved the formation of this board and appointed Palle Gangareddy as its chairman. Gangareddy, a BJP leader, hails from Ankapur village in Armoor Mandal of Nizamabad district.

The decision to set up the National Turmeric Board in Nizamabad stems from a promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election rally held in Mahbubnagar on October 1, 2023. Following this announcement, the Ministry of Commerce issued a gazette notification on October 4, 2023. While the notification did not specify the board’s headquarters, it has now been confirmed that the board will be established in Nizamabad.
