AP Government Focuses on Clearing Pending Bills
Minister Payyavula Keshav has been regularly providing detailed reports to the Chief Minister on the status of pending bills. The government is systematically disbursing funds owed by the previous administration to various groups.
Fulfilling its election promises, the government has initiated the payment process. As part of fee reimbursement arrears, certificates have been issued to 6.5 lakh students. Additionally, the government has compensated Polavaram project evacuees who had been waiting for the past five years.
The government has also cleared lease payments owed to farmers in Amaravati. Various categories, including employees, police personnel, and small contractors, who were adversely affected by the previous policies, have received relief with the release of pending funds. The clearance of pending bills has benefited 26,000 small contractors, providing them with financial stability. By January 2025, the government had disbursed approximately ₹8,000 crore.
Among these disbursements, ₹1,000 crore was allocated to Polavaram evacuees, ₹1,300 crore to employees, and ₹788 crore towards fee reimbursement arrears, along with several other payments to various sectors.
