YS Jagan Gets Relief in High Court, Passport Renewal Approved

In a significant relief for YSRCP President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the High Court has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the renewal of his passport. Justice Konakanti Srinivas Reddy directed the concerned authorities to issue a fresh passport to Jagan with a validity of five years. Additionally, the court permitted Jagan to travel to the United Kingdom to attend his daughter’s degree convocation ceremony, scheduled for January 16.

Jagan initially filed a petition in the Vijayawada Special Court, seeking an NOC for obtaining a passport. However, the special court ruled that he must appear in person and furnish a personal bond of ₹20,000 for the issuance of the NOC. Dissatisfied with the special court’s conditions, Jagan approached the High Court, challenging the earlier order.

Upon hearing the petition, Justice Srinivas Reddy set aside the special court's directive and granted the required NOC without additional conditions, thus clearing the way for Jagan to obtain a renewed passport and attend the overseas event.
