Actress Ramya Moves Court Over Unauthorized Use of Her Scenes in a Film

Kannada actress and former Mysuru MP Ramya has approached the court, seeking the removal of her scenes from the movie "Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare," claiming they were used without her consent. Filing a petition in the Commercial Court yesterday, Ramya alleged that her footage was included in the film’s trailer and main feature without her prior knowledge or permission.

In her plea, Ramya requested the court to direct the filmmakers to remove her videos from the movie and demanded compensation of one crore rupees. She stated that despite multiple requests to the film’s producers for the removal of her clips, no action was taken. Additionally, she indicated that she would withdraw the case if the videos were promptly removed.

Directed by Nithin Krishnamurthy, "Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare" is a black comedy-drama film. Earlier, Ramya had sought to halt the film’s release, but her petition was dismissed, allowing the film to be released smoothly.
