Prime Minister Modi Virtually Inaugurates Charlapalli Railway Terminal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Charlapalli Railway Terminal in Hyderabad. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also participated virtually in the event, while Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay attended the inauguration ceremony in person.

The terminal, constructed with advanced technology and modern facilities at a cost of ₹413 crores, was initially scheduled for inauguration on December 28 last year. However, the event was postponed due to the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Speaking during the virtual inauguration, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity. He noted that India’s metro network has now expanded to over 1,000 kilometers. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to improve connectivity in Telangana, Jammu & Kashmir, and Odisha.

The Charlapalli terminal is expected to ease congestion at the Secunderabad and Kacheguda railway stations. Modi highlighted the growing demand for high-speed trains across the country and referenced the introduction of new train services, including Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Namo Bharat trains. He remarked that over the past decade, Indian Railways has undergone a significant transformation, with modernization efforts reshaping the nation’s infrastructure.

The Prime Minister further stated, “Step by step, we are achieving new milestones in the country’s development.” He reiterated the government’s focus on improving infrastructure in the railway sector while also enhancing passenger amenities. Modi added that efforts are being made to boost connectivity across all regions of the country and announced upcoming sleeper coach facilities in Vande Bharat trains.
