YS Jagan Accuses Chandrababu Naidu of Betraying Mothers and Farmers

YSR Congress Party President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy once again launched a scathing attack on TDP Chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu through a series of tweets. Accusing Chandrababu Naidu of reneging on key electoral promises, Jagan questioned, “Is there any greater deception than this? Is there any worse betrayal than this?”

Jagan alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had promised to implement the ‘Talli Ki Vandana’ scheme, under which mothers would receive ₹15,000 annually for each child. “As soon as you assumed power, you halted the ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme, which we implemented successfully. Despite repeated cabinet meetings, you have not provided a clear timeline for implementing your promise. Now, you have decided not to provide it this year. Is this not outright deceit? How can you break such a significant promise made to lakhs of mothers and their children?” Jagan questioned.

He further claimed that during the election campaign, Chandrababu Naidu and his coalition partners aggressively promoted the scheme, promising families that they would receive ₹15,000 per child annually, adding that if there were two children, the amount would be ₹30,000, and for three children, it would be ₹45,000. "This promise was widely publicized, and evidence of these commitments remains in the form of audio and video clips on people's mobile phones,” he added.

Jagan pointed out that under the YSRCP government, the ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme had benefited 44.48 lakh mothers and approximately 84 lakh children, with ₹26,067 crores disbursed. He claimed that despite stopping ‘Amma Vodi,’ mothers and children were hopeful that Chandrababu Naidu’s promised scheme would be launched, but the government ultimately dashed their hopes by deciding not to implement it this year.

Shifting focus to the farmers, Jagan criticized the delay in providing financial aid under the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme. “Both the Kharif and Rabi seasons have passed without any support. While they keep leaking statements to the media, not a single penny has been disbursed so far,” he alleged. Jagan stated that under his administration, ₹13,500 per year was consistently given to 53.58 lakh farmers, totaling ₹34,378 crores. He reminded Chandrababu Naidu of his election promise to provide ₹20,000 annually to farmers, which has remained unfulfilled.

“Despite several cabinet meetings, there is no announcement regarding when farmers will receive financial aid. This is nothing but a massive betrayal of farmers,” he alleged, accusing the government of failing to provide input assistance, minimum support prices, or even crop insurance. “RBKs have been rendered ineffective, and there is no compensation or even condolence from the government in cases where distressed farmers have unfortunately taken their own lives.”

Jagan concluded his criticism by listing a series of alleged deceptions: “Every promise made to the people, from ₹15,000 per child under ‘Talli Ki Vandana’ to ₹20,000 for farmers, ₹18,000 for women above 18 years, ₹36,000 as unemployment allowance, and ₹48,000 for women above 50 years, has turned out to be a scam. Even volunteers who have dedicated themselves to public service were betrayed. On top of these false promises, citizens are burdened with ever-increasing charges, and corruption scandals are rampant—be it in sand, liquor, or other sectors.”

Jagan warned that such betrayals would only escalate public anger and assured that the YSR Congress Party would continue to stand by the people as a responsible opposition. “We will relentlessly fight for the implementation of the promises you made,” Jagan declared in his tweet.
