Everyone Knows That I Haven’t Built a House for Myself: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that while he has not built a house for himself, the government under his leadership has fulfilled the dreams of millions by constructing over four crore houses for the poor in the last ten years. Modi made these remarks during the inauguration of several residential complexes built under the Delhi Development Authority’s supervision in Delhi today.

Speaking on the occasion, Modi emphasized that the government has successfully provided housing for four crore families but clarified that he himself is not living in a luxurious palace. He used the opportunity to criticize the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, accusing it of failing to provide essential amenities to the people of the capital.

“The AAP government has indulged in various scandals related to liquor, education, and pollution management,” Modi alleged, further accusing the party of engaging in blatant corruption. Referring to the AAP’s governance, he remarked, “For the last ten years, Delhi has been gripped by a crisis, and now, people are ready to fight back against this disaster.”
Kejriwal's Counter:

In response, Aam Aadmi Party chief and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing counterattack, claiming that the real disaster lies within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) itself. Kejriwal dismissed Modi’s remarks, asserting that Delhi is not in any crisis but accused the BJP of lacking vision and leadership in the national capital.

“BJP doesn’t even have a Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi. They have no vision or agenda for the upcoming elections,” Kejriwal said, presenting three key points of criticism. He further mocked Modi’s statement, saying, “It’s ironic to hear about glass palaces from someone who lives in a house built with billions, flies on planes costing crores, and wears suits worth lakhs.”
