NHRC Issues Notices to Telangana DGP and Hyderabad Commissioner Over Sandhya Theatre Stampede

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) and Hyderabad Commissioner of Police (CP) in connection with the stampede incident at Sandhya Theatre, located at RTC Cross Roads in Hyderabad. The incident occurred during the premiere show of the film "Pushpa-2," resulting in significant chaos.

In its notice, the NHRC directed the officials to provide a detailed explanation of the incident. It further instructed that the matter be thoroughly investigated by a senior-ranking police officer and a comprehensive report be submitted within four weeks.

The stampede tragically claimed the life of a woman named Revathi, while her son is currently receiving treatment at KIMS Hospital.
