Hyderabad Metro Phase-2: Medchal, Shamirpet Metro Corridors Set for DPR Preparation
Hyderabad residents have received promising news as Metro Rail services are set to expand into northern parts of the city. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has approved the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for two new Metro corridors: a 23-kilometer stretch from Paradise to Medchal and a 22-kilometer corridor from JBS to Shamirpet.
The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director, NVS Reddy, has been instructed to expedite the preparation of DPRs. Once completed, the reports will be submitted to the central government for approval as part of Metro Rail Phase-2.
The proposed Paradise-to-Medchal corridor will cover prominent areas such as Tadbund, Bowenpally, Suchitra Circle, Kompally, Gundlapochampally, Kandlakoya, and Outer Ring Road (ORR) Exit before reaching Medchal. Similarly, the JBS-to-Shamirpet corridor will pass through Vikrampuri, Karkhana, Tirumalagiri, Lothukunta, Alwal, Bolarum, Hakimpet, Thumkunta, and ORR Exit before terminating at Shamirpet.
