Formula E Case Has No Merit; It’s a Baseless Allegation: KTR

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently issued notices to BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) in connection with the Formula E car case. Responding to this development, KTR made intriguing remarks, questioning the foundation of the allegations. “When there is no corruption, how can there be a case?” he asked, adding that the High Court's ruling would bring clarity on the matter.

KTR dismissed the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s (ACB) FIR in the case, describing the allegations as baseless and fabricated. “It’s a baseless case, a futile attempt,” he stated. KTR also criticized the Attorney General for failing to provide satisfactory answers to the High Court’s queries, alleging a targeted campaign by the government to send him to jail. “This is the sixth or seventh attempt to implicate me in a fabricated case,” he claimed.

Defending his role in the Formula E race, KTR said, “It was my decision to bring the race to Hyderabad. However, opposing the race is Revanth Reddy’s stance.” He affirmed the government’s commitment to development and highlighted the success of the event.

KTR also revealed plans for the party’s upcoming activities, announcing a grand public meeting on April 27 to mark the anniversary of the BRS. He expressed confidence in the party’s performance in the upcoming local body elections, stating that the first half of the year would focus on a membership drive. He outlined plans to form committees from the village level to the state level, aiming to strengthen the party's grassroots presence.

Criticizing the government’s policies, KTR alleged attempts to deny Rythu Bandhu benefits to salaried individuals and PAN cardholders. He also alleged an impending scam of ₹12,000 crores related to the Regional Ring Road project. On the issue of disqualification petitions against MLAs, he stated that the party would approach the Supreme Court and predicted the possibility of by-elections this year.
