Gavaskar Hails Nitish Kumar Reddy’s Maiden Test Century

In the fourth Test against Australia, young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy impressed with a stellar century, earning accolades from former captain Sunil Gavaskar. This innings marked Nitish's maiden Test century, as he scored 114 runs in India's first innings during the Melbourne Test. Despite his remarkable effort, the team failed to secure a victory in the match.

Sunil Gavaskar lauded Nitish Kumar Reddy's performance, stating that the player has shown consistent improvement with every Test match. He highlighted that Nitish's century under challenging circumstances has solidified his position in the team. Gavaskar added that since Hardik Pandya's departure from Test cricket, India has been searching for a medium-pace bowling all-rounder, and Nitish's current form has been promising in both batting and bowling.

Gavaskar also remarked that in the early stages of his career, Nitish appears to be better equipped than Hardik Pandya was. He emphasized the potential in Nitish's bowling, which continues to develop.

In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Nitish Kumar Reddy has amassed 294 runs and taken three wickets, further showcasing his all-round capabilities.
