Telangana High Court Orders No Arrest of KTR Until Verdict in Formula E-Case
Telangana High Court has granted interim relief to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) in the Formula E-Car Race case. The court directed authorities not to arrest KTR until the verdict is delivered. KTR had filed a quash petition seeking the dismissal of the FIR registered against him in connection with the case.
During today’s extended hearing, senior Supreme Court advocate Sidharth Luthra represented KTR, while Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy presented arguments on behalf of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Following the conclusion of arguments, the High Court reserved its judgment. Until the verdict is issued, the court has extended its interim orders preventing KTR's arrest.
Earlier, during a hearing on the quash petition, the High Court had directed that KTR should not be arrested until December 30, while allowing the ACB to proceed with its investigation. The court also instructed the ACB to submit a counter-affidavit within ten days. Subsequent hearings were adjourned to December 27 and later to December 31.
After today’s proceedings, the High Court decided to reserve its judgment while continuing to shield KTR from arrest.
