Minister Nadendla Manohar Counters Perni Nani's Allegations

State Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar has responded to allegations made by former minister and YSR Congress Party senior leader Perni Nani, who claimed that cases were filed against him despite having paid penalties for missing rice sacks from their godown. Manohar questioned why penalties were paid if no wrongdoing had occurred and asked why the lease was taken in his wife's name. He clarified that cases are filed against those under whose name the godown is registered.

Manohar further asked who had written a letter promising to pay penalties for missing ration rice even before an investigation. He dismissed Nani’s claims of a political conspiracy, asserting that the government does not engage in such practices. He emphasized that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan have no personal vendettas.

The minister explained that on November 26, orders were issued to inspect all godowns across the state. The next day, a letter acknowledging the misplacement of 378 metric tons of rice, valued at ₹1.70 crore, was submitted. He revealed that an individual named Jayasudha admitted the fault in the letter. Manohar accused the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government of misusing systems for personal gain over the past five years.

Manohar noted that Perni Nani had not responded to the notices issued regarding the missing rice and questioned the lack of clarity on the whereabouts of the 378 metric tons of rice. These statements were made during an event in the East Godavari district where Manohar distributed cheques worth ₹5 lakh each to the families of 21 Jana Sena Party workers who lost their lives in separate accidents. The event was attended by Minister Kandula Durgesh, Kakinada MP Uday Srinivas, and Rajanagaram MLA Battula Balaramakrishna.
