Manmohan Singh's Life Portrayed by Anupam Kher in The Accidental Prime Minister

A Bollywood film titled The Accidental Prime Minister chronicles the life of Dr. Manmohan Singh, who served as India's Prime Minister for ten years. The movie is based on a book of the same name written by Sanjaya Baru, a close associate of Dr. Singh. Anupam Kher stars as Manmohan Singh, while Akshaye Khanna plays Sanjaya Baru in this controversial film.

Released in theaters on January 11, 2019, the film faced strong opposition from the Indian National Congress. The party alleged that the movie aimed to tarnish Dr. Singh's reputation, claiming it was a deliberate attempt to influence voters ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
