Sukumar Predicts National Award for Ram Charan in Game Changer
The much-anticipated film Game Changer, directed by Shankar and starring global star Ram Charan, is set to release on January 10. As part of the promotional campaign, a grand pre-release event was organized in Dallas, USA, under the supervision of Rajesh Kallepalli from Charisma Dreams. Director Sukumar attended the event as the chief guest and shared his insights about the film and its impact.
Sukumar remarked, “Overseas audiences have always shown immense love for Telugu films. My film 1: Nenokkadine was embraced here, and without that, my subsequent projects wouldn’t have materialized. I owe my career to Dil Raju, who gave me my first opportunity. I’ll always remain indebted to him.”
Speaking about Game Changer, Sukumar expressed his excitement about Shankar and Ram Charan collaborating. “When Ram Charan told me he was doing a film with Shankar, I was thrilled. The first half of Game Changer is extraordinary, the interval block is a blockbuster, and the flashback in the second half is phenomenal. Ram Charan’s performance in the climax guarantees him a National Award. I believed he would win for Rangasthalam, but it didn’t happen. This time, it’s certain,” he said.
Dil Raju on His Journey with Shankar
Producer Dil Raju highlighted the long-standing association with Shankar, which began with the Telugu release of Oke Okkadu in 1998. “Our journey started with Oke Okkadu, and now we’ve reached Game Changer, which marks the 50th film under our banner. Despite delays due to COVID-19, we’ve created a masterpiece. The DOP Song, which we’re launching here, brought tears of joy to my eyes. Ram Charan’s global appeal elevated the film to this scale,” Dil Raju shared.
Raju further elaborated on the film’s socio-political themes, mentioning how Shankar had scripted the story years ago, yet its relevance is more pronounced today. He also expressed confidence in the film’s success during the Sankranti season, adding, “Game Changer will not just make an impact but will dominate.”
Shankar Praises Cast and Crew
Director Shankar expressed his gratitude to the Telugu audience for their unwavering love despite his limited work in Telugu cinema. “I wanted to collaborate with Chiranjeevi and Mahesh Babu earlier, but those didn’t materialize. Finally, destiny led me to Ram Charan, and Game Changer was born,” Shankar stated.
Describing the film, Shankar said, “The story revolves around the conflict between a government officer and a politician. Ram Charan’s portrayal as a fiery college student and a grounded character in traditional attire is exceptional. Each scene and dialogue by S.J. Suryah adds depth to the narrative. Anjali’s performance will surprise everyone, while the ensemble cast, including Srikanth, Brahmanandam, and Sunil, delivered remarkable contributions.”
Shankar also commended music director Thaman for his outstanding score despite the immense pressure. “I insisted on a Telugu music director, and Thaman exceeded expectations with brilliant songs,” he added.
The cast and crew collectively expressed their confidence in the success of Game Changer, with Dil Raju emphasizing the significance of this film for the Telugu audience. “This Sankranti, we’re not just aiming for a hit—we’re aiming to redefine success,” he declared.
Sukumar, Shankar, and Dil Raju thanked the audience for their continued support and promised a cinematic spectacle with Game Changer, blending mass appeal, socio-political commentary, and Shankar’s trademark grandeur.
