Northern Andhra Pradesh on Alert as Low-Pressure System Intensifies

The severe low-pressure system over the southwest Bay of Bengal, adjacent to the west-central Bay, is expected to intensify further, according to the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA).

APSDMA stated that the system is likely to move northwards, entering the west-central Bay of Bengal, and transform into a depression within the next 12 hours. It is expected to strengthen further and continue moving northeastward over the subsequent 24 hours.

Due to its impact, light to moderate rainfall is predicted in some areas of Parvathipuram Manyam, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam districts on December 21.

Additionally, isolated light showers are expected in Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle, Alluri Sitharama Raju, East Godavari, West Godavari, Konaseema, Eluru, Nellore, Tirupati, Chittoor, Sri Sathya Sai, Annamayya, YSR Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool, and Nandyal districts, as mentioned in the latest APSDMA bulletin.
