BJP MP Injured in Parliament; Alleges Rahul Gandhi Pushed Him

During protests in Parliament involving ruling and opposition MPs, BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi sustained a head injury following a scuffle. Reports indicate that Sarangi, an MP from Odisha, fell during the commotion and suffered a head wound. Bleeding from the injury, he was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.

Speaking to the media while being wheeled into the ambulance, Sarangi alleged that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi pushed another MP, causing the latter to fall on him. "We both fell, resulting in a head injury for me," Sarangi claimed, asserting that the incident was triggered by Rahul Gandhi's actions.

On Thursday, BJP MPs staged a protest in Parliament holding placards against the conduct of Congress and INDIA bloc MPs. Simultaneously, opposition MPs demanded an apology from Home Minister Amit Shah over alleged remarks about B.R. Ambedkar. This led to a confrontation between the two sides, during which Sarangi was reportedly injured. Sources suggest BJP members are considering filing a police complaint against Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi’s Response

Responding to the allegations, Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi accused BJP MPs of blocking his entry into the House. "BJP MPs tried to stop us from entering Parliament and even threatened us," he alleged. Rahul Gandhi insisted that opposition MPs have the right to enter the House and described the incident as an attempt by BJP MPs to obstruct them. He urged people to review video footage, claiming it would clearly show what transpired.
