Goa CM's Wife Files ₹100 Crore Defamation Suit Against AAP MP

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant's wife, Sulakshana Sawant, has filed a ₹100 crore defamation suit against senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MP Sanjay Singh. Following her petition, the Goa court has issued notices to Sanjay Singh, instructing him to respond by January 10.

The legal action stems from allegations Sanjay Singh made during a recent press conference in Delhi concerning a recruitment scam in Goa. He claimed that government jobs were being sold, implicating Sulakshana Sawant. Reacting to these accusations, she approached the Bicholim Civil Court in North Goa. After reviewing the petition, the court issued notices to the AAP MP.

Through her legal representatives, Sulakshana Sawant urged the court to direct Sanjay Singh to issue an unconditional public apology for making false accusations. Additionally, she requested an injunction preventing him from making defamatory statements against her on social media or through public declarations.
