Telangana High Court Orders Police to Return MLA Koushik Reddy's Seized Phone

The Telangana High Court has directed the police to return the mobile phone of Huzurabad MLA Padi Koushik Reddy, which was seized during an investigation. The police had taken his phone while probing a case filed against him for allegedly obstructing the duties of the Banjara Hills Circle Inspector (CI).

Koushik Reddy approached the High Court, alleging that the police had seized his phone without issuing prior notice. During the hearing, the government counsel argued that the phone was needed for forensic examination, claiming that the MLA was involved in conspiracies against the government.

The High Court, however, emphasized that any phone seizure must follow due legal procedures, including issuing prior notice. It ordered the police to return the phone to Koushik Reddy.
