Pawan Kalyan Calls for Development of Literary Tourism in AP

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his desire for the development of literary tourism in Andhra Pradesh, alongside spiritual, adventure, and historical tourism. He shared this vision during a meeting with representatives of the Vijayawada Book Fair Committee at his camp office in Mangalagiri on Sunday.

The representatives highlighted the challenges they face in organizing the annual book festival, which has been held successfully in Vijayawada for the past 35 years. They mentioned the difficulty of securing a suitable venue for the event. In response, Pawan Kalyan assured them that the issue would be resolved.

He emphasized the need for literary tours that celebrate the legacy of prominent Telugu poets and writers. The government is considering initiatives to organize such tours to showcase the literary contributions of figures like Sri Sri, Gurajada Apparao, Chalam, Gurram Jashuva, Viswanatha Satyanarayana, Tilak, and Devulapalli Krishna Sastri by preserving their birthplaces and establishing memorial centers.

Pawan Kalyan also suggested developing tourism circuits that connect key literary sites, such as Vetapalem Library, Rajamahendravaram's Gowthami Library, and Kadapa’s C.P. Brown Library. He stated that these efforts would not only enhance the popularity of Telugu literature but also boost the state’s tourism sector.

Among those who met Pawan Kalyan were T. Manohar Naidu, K. Lakshmaiah, Golla Narayana Rao, and Sandeepani from the Vijayawada Book Fair Committee.
