Andhra Pradesh Weather Alert: Heavy Rains Expected as Low-Pressure Builds
A severe low-pressure system has formed over the Bay of Bengal and is currently centered in the southeast-southwest Bay of Bengal region. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system is likely to intensify into a depression gradually. The IMD predicts that it will move northwestward over the next 24 hours, heading toward the Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coast.
Due to its influence, heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Andhra Pradesh’s coastal districts, Rayalaseema, and Yanam on December 11 and 12. The IMD has issued advisories urging fishermen to avoid venturing into the Bay of Bengal from December 11 to 13 due to the hazardous sea conditions.
The low-pressure system has already caused a sudden weather change in Andhra Pradesh’s southern coastal districts. Skies have turned cloudy, and strong winds are blowing across many areas, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures.
