Its Official: Pushpa-2 Breaks Indian Cinema Day-One Records
Allu Arjun's much-anticipated film Pushpa-2: The Rule has once again proven the power of Telugu cinema on the global stage. The film shattered records on its opening day, setting an all-time high for Indian cinema with its unprecedented collections.
According to official figures released by the producers, Pushpa-2 grossed ₹294 crores worldwide on its first day alone. This marks the highest-ever opening day collection in Indian cinema history. The previous record was held by SS Rajamouli's 2022 magnum opus RRR, which collected ₹233 crores on its opening day. Pushpa-2 has now surpassed that milestone with a significant margin.
In the Hindi market, Pushpa-2 set another benchmark by grossing ₹72 crores on its first day, the highest opening for any Hindi-language release to date. The previous record was held by Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which earned ₹65.5 crores on its first day in Hindi. With this achievement, Pushpa-2 has secured the top spot in the Hindi box office opening-day rankings, pushing Jawan to second place.
In the Nizam region, Pushpa-2 collected ₹30 crores on its first day, breaking the record previously held by RRR at ₹23 crores. These extraordinary figures underscore the massive anticipation and response from audiences in this key region.
Starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, Pushpa-2: The Rule is directed by creative filmmaker Sukumar. The film was released worldwide on December 5. With overwhelmingly positive audience reception, the film’s collections show no signs of slowing down.
