Pushpa-2 Incident: Minister Komatireddy's Sensational Decision on Benefit Shows

It is well-known that both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments have been permitting benefit shows for star heroes' films. The same permissions were granted for the benefit shows of Allu Arjun’s latest film, Pushpa-2.

However, a tragic incident during a benefit show at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theater has sparked controversy. A stampede occurred, leading to the death of a woman, causing widespread shock. In response, Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy made sensational remarks, declaring that no further permissions will be granted for benefit shows of any movie.

The minister stated that organizing benefit shows disrupts public safety and peace. He expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of a family member for those who came to the theater with their families to watch a movie.

The incident occurred at the Sandhya Theater in RTC Crossroads, where Allu Arjun had arrived to watch the film along with his family. Among the audience was Revathi (39) from Dilsukhnagar, who had come with her husband Bhaskar and their children, Sritej and Shanvika. When Allu Arjun arrived, an unexpected stampede broke out.

In the chaos, Revathi and her son Sritej suffered from suffocation and fell unconscious. Though the police promptly administered CPR to Revathi and rushed her to a hospital, their efforts were in vain. Doctors confirmed that she had already passed away.

This tragic incident has cast a pall of grief over the Telugu states. The Pushpa team expressed deep sorrow over the woman’s death and announced their support for the bereaved family.
