11 Arrested in Gannavaram TDP Office Attack Case, Including Former MLA Vamsi’s PA
The arrests continue in the case involving the attack on the TDP office in Gannavaram during the YSRCP regime. After previously apprehending several individuals, the police have now arrested 11 more suspects, including Raja, the personal assistant (PA) of former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi. The arrests were made in the early hours of Friday, with the detainees being taken to the police station. It is reported that the police may also take into custody individuals from Vijayawada Rural, Gannavaram, Bapulapadu, and Unguturu.
The attack occurred on February 20 of this year, when followers of the then MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi and YSRCP leaders allegedly stormed the TDP office in Gannavaram, setting it ablaze. The attackers reportedly destroyed furniture, injured several TDP leaders, and burned vehicles. Based on a complaint filed by the TDP office operator, Satyavardhan, police registered a case under various sections and identified 71 individuals involved in the attack using CCTV footage and video evidence.
Following a change in government, the police intensified their investigation into the case, leading many accused individuals to go into hiding. As part of their ongoing efforts, the police have been systematically arresting the suspects.
