ICC Ultimatum: Pakistan Agrees to Host Champions Trophy on Hybrid Terms

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly agreed to the International Cricket Council's (ICC) demand to host the 2025 Champions Trophy using a hybrid model. The ICC had recently issued an ultimatum, stating that if the hybrid model was not accepted, the tournament would be shifted to another country. Initially threatening to boycott the event, Pakistan has now softened its stance regarding hosting rights.

While agreeing to the hybrid format, Pakistan has also demanded that ICC implement the same model for ICC events scheduled in India until 2031. Additionally, Pakistan has requested an increase in financial incentives as part of the negotiations.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has emphasized that Pakistan's agreement to the hybrid model is contingent upon these demands being met. Naqvi reiterated that Pakistan’s national team will not travel to India for matches in the future and insisted that Pakistan’s share in ICC revenues be increased.

The ICC's response to Pakistan's conditions remains to be seen, as negotiations continue around the Champions Trophy 2025 hosting framework and Pakistan’s demands.
