NDA Alliance Harmful to the Poor: CM Jagan
Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy questioned how Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan could align with the BJP, which has declared intentions to cancel Muslim reservations. He criticized Chandrababu's approach as deceptive, aiming only to garner minority votes under false pretenses. CM Jagan emphasized that under no circumstances should the 4% reservation for Muslims be discontinued. He made these remarks during a public election meeting held in Kalyandurgam, Anantapur district, on Thursday.
CM Jagan accused the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Janasena, and BJP of conspiring not to release funds owed to farmers, women, and students. He further claimed that while the Election Commission allowed payments to farmers in Telangana, it denied permission for similar disbursements in Andhra Pradesh due to pressure from the NDA alliance. He held the alliance directly responsible for the Election Commission's refusal to permit disbursement of funds for welfare schemes that have been in place for the last five years.
Jagan asserted that if he is reelected, the welfare schemes will continue for another five years, and if not, Chandrababu would halt these programs, currently known as 'Navaratnalu'. He proudly noted the credibility of his government's manifesto and the introduction of foundational amenities and English-medium instruction in government schools, starting from third grade TOEFL classes. He highlighted that his administration had provided doorstep civil services throughout his term.
In his criticism of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan claimed that Chandrababu, having no significant accomplishments from his previous term, has resorted to elections in alliance with other parties. He recalled that promises like farm loan waivers and self-help group loan waivers announced by Chandrababu in 2014 were disregarded post-election, asserting that Naidu never provided even a cent of land to the poor. Now, as Jagan provides lands and houses to the poor, he mocked that Chandrababu is left lamenting.
