New Delhi: A 23-year-old woman, who hails from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, met with a road accident on March 31 this year while riding a bike with her husband. She suffered severe head injuries in that accident. Due to this, doctors have performed several surgeries, but she has remained unconscious for the past seven months.

She was two months pregnant at the time of the accident and gave birth to a healthy baby girl at AIIMS in Delhi last week. Her husband works as a driver in private travels. He left his job to take care of his pregnant wife who was in a coma. The woman was 40 days pregnant when she came to AIIMS.

A team of gynecologists reviewed her condition and said the baby was healthy and there was no danger to the baby. With this, her husband wanted to get the child. As a result, the gynecology team gave her a normal delivery last week.

The baby girl is safe and healthy. Doctors said that the 23-year-old woman, who was involved in a road accident, has undergone five head surgeries so far. She opens her eyes, but not responding to anything, said a professor of the neurosurgery department.
