Vizag to become executive capital from next academic year: Minister Gudivada
Amaravati, September 16: IT and Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath revealed that the YSRCP government will introduce revised three capitals Bill in the Legislative Assembly very soon. Talking to reporters at media point on Assembly premises here on Friday evening, he said that Visakhapatnam will function as an executive capital from next academic year onwards. However, Amarnath did not reveal in which session the bill will be tabled.
The minister mentioned that the Jagan government is planning ‘Beach IT’ in Visakhapatnam to encourage Information Technology (IT) sector. With an aim to develop port city, Global Investors’ Summit would be held in Vizag next year, he stated.
Amarnath made it clear that not a single cent of private land is acquired for construction of offices needed for executive capital. To a question, he challenged the TDP to prove land grabbing charges by ruling party leaders in Visakhapatnam. He made TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu responsible if law and order is disturbed because of Maha Padayatra taken up by Amaravati farmers.
