Woman dies at CM Jagan meeting, Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia paid

Vijayawada, August 26: A woman, who went to attend Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s public meeting in Pedana on Thursday, has died. Sammeta Ramamanikyam of Devarapalli village, Pedana mandal, went to the CM’s meeting. While the meeting was going on, the woman fell unconscious. Officials immediately shifted her to hospital, but of no use.
 
Minister Jogi Ramesh informed the matter to CM Jagan at helipad, who was returning. The CM expressed grief and directed the District Collector to pay Rs 10 lakh ex gratia to the victim’s family immediately. 
 
Minister Jogi Ramesh went to Devarapalli, paid homage to the deceased and gave the cheque to her family members.
