KCR constructed Kaleshwaram project with wrong design: Shekhawat

Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, August 2: Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Shekhawat on Tuesday participated as a chief guest for the launch of third phase of Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay’s Praja Sangrama Yatra at Vangapalli. Addressing a public meeting, Shekhawat alleged that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had constructed the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project with a wrong design.
“KCR did not take investment and environmental clearances before embarking on Kaleshwaram construction,” he said and flayed the CM for demanding the Centre to grant national status to Kaleshwaram. He mentioned that power and pump houses of Kaleshwaram have submerged because of faulty design in recent Godavari floods.
 
The union minister alleged that KCR constructed Kaleshwaram for his own benefit and to use the project as ATM. “Defeating the TRS in next Assembly elections is a befitting tribute to statehood martyrs,” he stated. Union Minister Kishan Reddy, BJP MPs and other party leaders were present.
