Hyd: CI arrested in r*pe case to be remanded after medical tests

Hyderabad, July 11: Marredpally CI Nageswara Rao arrested for r*ping a married woman at BN Reddy Nagar in Hasthinapuram here on July 6 will be produced before the Hayatnagar court after conducting medical tests in a government hospital. Later, the accused will be sent to remand. The police registered a case under IPC sections 452, 376(2), 307, 448, and 365.
 
Meanwhile, the Congress and BJP functionaries staged a protest demanding a stern action should be taken against the cop. “The Telangana government should sack the CI from police service permanently instead of suspending him,” they said. 
 
To know the facts in the case so that they corroborate with technical and scientific evidence collected so far, the Vanasthalipuram police will be filing a petition in the court either on Monday or Tuesday seeking custody of the accused. Arrest of a CI rank police official in a rape case created sensation in both Telugu states.
