Kishan Reddy tenders apology to Atchannaidu
Bhimavaram, July 5: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy tendered apology to Andhra Pradesh TDP president Atchannaidu as latter was stopped from welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi at helipad here.
Speaking to the media, Kishan Reddy said that the Centre invited TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu to participate in the programme organised to unveil 30-feet bronze statue of legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju at Bhimavaram in West Godavari district. However, Chandrababu sent Atchannaidu as his representative to the event.
But, the PMO did not include the name of Atchannaidu in protocol list. When the AP TDP chief was heading to towards helipad, West Godavari Collector P. Prasanthi stopped him as his name was not in the list. He expressed anger for insulting him after sending invitation to participate in the programme. Atchannaidu made the ruling YSRCP government responsible for the goof-up. AP BJP president Somu Veerraju and other BJP leaders were present.
