Forge alliance with YSRCP in AP, Prashant Kishor suggests Sonia Gandhi
A powerpoint presentation given by election strategist Prashant Kishor to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Monday, regarding the resurgence of the party in 2024 elections was leaked to the media. He coined the title for the presentation as ‘Reincarnation of Congress – preserve the soul creating a new body.’
Kishor has suggested that the Congress should contest alone in states where it is in top or second position in previous polls and enter into alliance with regional parties in states where it is weak. During the meeting, he reportedly told the Congress to aim for 370 seats out of which 168 seats in five states by forging an alliance with regional parties.
With regard to Telugu states, he informed Sonia and other top Congress leaders that they should go alone in Telangana and struck an electoral tie-up with the YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh. So far, the YSRCP did not respond on the suggestion made by Kishore to Sonia.
