Petition filed for custody of accused in a conspiracy to assassinate Excise Minister
Hyderabad: The Telangana police filed a petition in the court seeking 10 days custody of the accused in the conspiracy to assassinate Excise Minister Srinivas Goud. The Pate Bashirabad police, who are probing the case, filed a petition in the Medchal district court on Saturday.
The court, which received the petition for hearing, issued notices to the accused to file a counterclaim. Following the receipt of this counter, the court will hear the petition.
The case came to light amid dramatic developments as differences arose between the accused and the Supari gang, which was hired to assassinate Excise Minister Srinivas Goud and the gang was offered Rs 15 crore for killing the Minister.
The Cyberabad police entered the field as soon as they received the preliminary information and arrested seven accused.
It is learnt that three of them were arrested at the Delhi residence of senior BJP leader Jitender Reddy. In their petition, the police asked the court to hand over the accused to their custody to know the details of who had given Rs 15 crore to the Supari gang from where did the gang had procured the guns.
