PM Modi speaks to Ukrainian President over phone

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over the phone. Zelenskyy briefed Prime Minister Modi on the current situation in Ukraine. On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property in Ukraine.

Modi reiterated his call for an end to violence. He once again made it clear that negotiations were the only way to solve the problem. Prime Minister Modi told Ukrainian President Zelenskyy that he was ready to help in any way possible to establish peace between the two countries.

At the same time, Modi expressed grave concern for the safety of Indian citizens in Ukraine. Ukrainian authorities have called for immediate arrangements for the safe evacuation of Indian nationals stranded there.
