Mental health is vital to facing the challenges of life: Governor

Hyderabad, June 11: Hon’ble Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday emphasised the importance of better mental health in order to face the challenges of life.She said that modern-day life is throwing up many challenges that pose danger to
mental health and advised people, especially women, to take care of their mental health in order to overcome stress and depression.


The Governor was inaugurating the Free Medical Camp, organised by the Keerthi Reddy Foundation in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, at Borabanda, here.Calling for the regular practise of yoga and meditation, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said that in order to be physically and mentally healthy, one must practise yoga and meditation on a regular basis."It is vital for all, especially for those who have a family history of hypertension, diabetes, or cancer, to go for annual medical checkups to address any medial issue at the initial stage only; she said.

The Governor motivated the people to use the services of the Jan Aushadi centres and the generic medical shops and get lifesaving medicines at an affordable price.She appreciated the ‘noble services’ of the Keerthi Reddy Foundation in organising free medical camps and distributing medicines to the needy.The Governor also lauded the service activities of the IRCS during the COVID pandemic and other natural calamities.
