Hundreds throng Raj Bhavan to greet Governor

Hyderabad, Jan 1: Hundreds of people thronged the Raj Bhavan, here, on Sunday to greet Hon’ble Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on the occasion of New Year celebrations.

Hundreds of people from different walks of life and from across the State came to the Raj Bhavan to offer bouquets, shawls, books, calendars, dairies and greet the Governor.

    The Governor cut the cake and extended the new year greetings and wishes to the people at a special function held at the Darbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan extended the greetings to the people of Telangana for a healthy, happy, safe, and prosperous new year-2023.

    “Thanks to the massive vaccination campaign, the year 2022 has been a safe year and millions of deaths were prevented in the country with the effective vaccination. I hope, the 2023 too will be an equally safe and healthy year for the people of our country and
state,” she added. The Governor distributed sweet boxes to the media personnel and greeted them, while all the visitors, part of the unprecedented crowds, were served with sweets, snacks and tea.

     
The Governor also went round the handloom stalls’ exhibition set up in the Darbar Hall and took a look at the sarees and other handwoven products.  She appreciated the special artistic work of the handloom weavers in coming out the designs of the G-20 summit and Azadi ka Armit Mahotsav. Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan appreciated and asked the gathering to applause one young graduate, who was one of the beneficiaries of the laptops distributed by the Governor earlier, on his selection for a job in a prestigious corporate organization. Braving the odds, a couple of differently abled people too visited the Raj Bhavan and greeted the Governor on the occasion. Some of the visitors, especially women, submitted petitions related to their grievances to the Governor on the occasion.

    For more than two hours, the Governor remained standing and accepted the greetings and wishes at the Darbar Hall. Earlier, the Governor visited the Bhagya Laxmi Temple at Charminar and performed special puja on the occasion.
