Dallas-Fortworth residents celebrate 75th India's Independence Day at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial
Dallas, Texas: On a bright sunny morning of August 15th,2022, a few hundred Dallas-Fortworth residents gathered at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial of North-Texas in Irving with great enthusiasm to celebrate "75th India's Independence Day - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', Rao Kalvala, Secretary and Memorial Construction Chair, welcome the crowd and talked about the vision of Dr. Prasad Thotakura the Chairman of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial of North-Texas (MGMNT) that made Mahatma Gandhi Memorial possible.
The program started with India National Anthem followed by American National, Enthusiastic crowd cheered many slogans, the well wishes for India and America, The board of directors & advisor of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Urmeet Juneja, Salman Fashori, MVL Prasad talked on the occasion and expressed their pride, love and respect for the India Independence leaders particularly the struggle of Mahatma Gandhi thru Peaceful protests that inspired and motivated millions of people. Today, Mahatma Gandhi is a world iconic Peace leader, who was instrumental in India's Independence. Rao Kalvala, thanked the attendees and mentioned that as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, on October, 2nd, on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday, there will be a grandeur event to memorialize Mahatma Gandhi's efforts in India's Independence.
